Scope
This standard applies to the calibration of single-pole and dual-pole medical high-frequency electrosurgical instruments with an operating frequency range of 0.3 MHz to 5.0 MHz, whether they are newly manufactured, in use, or after repair. This standard does not apply to the calibration of medical high-frequency electrosurgical instruments with a maximum output power of less than 50W in single-pole mode, nor to the calibration of specialized high-frequency electrosurgical instruments used in dentistry, gynecology, and dermatology in dual-pole mode.
