Scope

In order to ensure the construction and installation quality of electrical equipment in explosive and fire-prone environments, promote the advancement of construction and installation technologies, ensure the safe operation of equipment in explosive and fire-prone environments, and safeguard the safety of national and people's lives and property, these regulations are formulated. These regulations apply to the construction and acceptance of electrical equipment installation projects in environments where explosive mixtures of gases, vapors, dust, fibers, and fire-prone substances may occur or exist during production, processing, handling, transfer, or storage. These regulations do not apply to the construction and acceptance of electrical equipment installation projects in the following environments: underground mines; environments where gunpowder, explosives, detonators, fuses, and pyrotechnics are manufactured, used, or stored; electrolysis and electroplating areas where electrical energy is used for production and directly related to the production process; environments where strong oxidants are used and substances that can spontaneously ignite without an external ignition source; water, land, and air transportation vehicles and offshore and onshore oil platforms; nuclear power plant nuclear islands; pipeline systems that use flavored natural gas for heating, air conditioning, cooking, washing, and similar purposes; medical rooms; and catastrophic accidents.
