Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of bamboo used in construction, sample collection, sawing and cutting methods of test materials, basic requirements, moisture content test methods, dry shrinkage rate test methods, density test methods, water absorption test methods, compressive strength and elastic modulus test methods along the grain, compressive strength test methods across the grain, tensile strength and elastic modulus test methods along the grain, shear strength test methods along the grain, bending strength and elastic modulus test methods, and impact toughness test methods.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the physical and mechanical properties of bamboo used in construction by using small test samples of bamboo wall pieces.
