Scope

This standard specifies the terms, product models, requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for electronic spiral scales (also known as spiral hopper scales, spiral feeding scales, hereinafter referred to as "spiral scales"). It also provides standardized requirements and test procedures for testing the metrological or technical characteristics of spiral scales in a traceable manner. This standard applies to continuous cumulative automatic weighing devices (electronic spiral scales) that utilize the principle of gravity, operate in a continuous weighing mode, and are used with single-speed, multi-speed, or variable-speed spiral conveyors to determine the flow rate and cumulative mass of bulk materials.
