Scope
This part of the standard specifies the test content related to the transport plane, control plane, management plane, signaling communication network (SCN), protection and recovery, ASON network services, interoperability with traditional SDH networks, and planning simulation software of an ASON network based on SDH equipment defined by ITU-T G.783.
This part is applicable to ASON networks where the SDH equipment defined by ITU-T G.783 is used as the transport plane.
Note: The test for interoperability with traditional SDH networks is described in Appendix A, and the functional verification of planning simulation software is described in Appendix B.
