Scope

This document specifies: -- The basic principles, test components, and test instruments for noise testing of rolling bearing grease; -- The symbols used in the test methods BQ+, MQ, and NQ. This document is applicable to the testing of rolling bearing grease, especially unused grease. Note: The applicable grease refers to NLGI grades 1 to 3 that comply with DIN 51818. The grease suitable for rolling bearing lubrication specifically refers to grease that complies with ISO 12924. According to the test methods in this document, meaningful results are obtained for rolling bearings, but these test methods can also be applied to grease in similar applications [15,16].
