Scope

This standard applies to edible artificial casings made from collagen "pellets" produced by adding additives to collagen fibers from the dermis of pigs and cattle, subjecting them to chemical and mechanical processing, and then forming them through processes such as extrusion, inflation molding, drying, and heat setting. These casings are used in the production of Chinese and Western-style sausages.
