Scope

This standard provides guidance for determining the precision of test methods used in the rubber manufacturing industry and the carbon black industry through the Interlaboratory Testing Program (ITP). This standard adopts the variance calculation method of basic univariate analysis in GB/T 6379, and strives to ensure that the terms and definitions in GB/T 6379 do not contradict historical practices or the precision determination procedures in these two industries. Although this standard does not determine bias, it is a fundamental concept for understanding precision determination. This standard does not include the determination of accuracy and precision, which are covered in GB/T 6379.
