Scope

This standard introduces how to determine the sensitivity of test methods for the typical physical and chemical properties of rubber and rubber products, and it is also applicable to test methods for the properties of carbon black fillers.
Test sensitivity is defined as the ratio of the discriminatory power of the test method for the basic attribute being tested to the measurement error expressed as the standard deviation, often described as the "signal-to-noise ratio".
This standard does not discuss the sensitivity of threshold (minimum) detection limits in trace analysis.
