Scope
This standard specifies the classification and composition, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, user's manual, packaging, transportation, and storage of penetration testers in geotechnical testing instruments. This standard is applicable to standard penetration testers used to measure penetration resistance. This standard is also applicable to pocket penetration testers and weighted penetration testers used to estimate the bearing capacity of soils.
