Scope
This standard applies to certain aspects of the design, manufacture, and installation of record and verification systems (RVS) in radiation therapy in the medical field. Such record and verification systems (RVS): a) provide, define, or display treatment machine setup data; input data manually or import data directly from other devices; b) can control the operation of the equipment; c) record data throughout the entire treatment phase; d) are intended for use: 1) under the authorization of qualified personnel or personnel with corresponding certificates, by operators with relevant technical skills and training; 2) in accordance with the recommendations of the user manual; 3) under the environmental and power supply conditions specified in the technical specifications. This standard does not cover the implementation of dynamic beam therapy.
