Scope
This standard specifies a method for testing the surface resistance of superconductors at microwave frequencies using the dual resonator method. The objective of the test is to observe the change in RS with temperature at the resonance frequency. An improved mirror-medium resonator method, as an alternative method, is provided in Appendix B. This standard applies to the following range of surface resistance testing: -- Frequency: 8 GHz < f < 30 GHz; -- Test resolution: 0.01 mΩ (f = 10 GHz). The test report provides the surface resistance value at the test frequency and converts the value to 10 GHz using the RS f 2 relationship.
