Scope

This document specifies the sample preparation, sample testing, and calculation of test results for determining the carbon content in continuous silicon carbide fibers using the high-frequency induction combustion infrared absorption method. This document is applicable to determining the total carbon content in continuous silicon carbide fibers using the high-frequency induction combustion infrared absorption method. The carbon content testing of non-continuous silicon carbide fibers and substrates shall refer to this document. The carbon content testing of other ceramic fibers shall refer to this document.
