Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions for the safety of leather and fur products, provides product classification, stipulates technical requirements for classification, sets limits for the content of carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, formaldehyde, hexavalent chromium, short-chain chlorinated paraffins, chlorinated phenols, phthalate plasticizers, total heavy metals, and dimethyl fumarate in products, and describes the determination and labeling of products, as well as corresponding test methods. This document applies to the accessible leather and fur parts of leather and fur products used in daily life, as well as to the recycled leather parts of recycled leather products and their products. This document does not apply to special industrial leather, fur, and recycled leather products and their products. Appendix A provides a list of products and products subject to the specifications of this document.
