GB/T 43884-2024 Metallic coatings—Zinc diffusion coatings on ferrous products-sherardizing—Technical requirements
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the minimum thickness requirements for six grades of zinc diffusion layers prepared by the zinc immersion process for the purposes of corrosion prevention and wear resistance.
This document does not set any requirements for the surface condition (smoothness or roughness) of the base material before zinc immersion treatment.
This document does not specify any post-treatment (conversion film), supplementary treatment, or organic coatings (applicable to composite coating systems) for zinc immersion workpieces.
Note 1: For general information on zinc immersion post-treatment, see Appendices A and B.
This document applies to zinc diffusion layers on the surfaces of steel parts, but not to zinc immersion products (such as fasteners and pipe fittings) that are subject to corresponding standards and contain requirements that are more stringent or different from those specified in this document.
Note 2: The technical specifications for the corrosion protection layers of certain products may refer to the document number of this document, or this document may be used as a reference for amendments.
