Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the oil content in boiler water and cooling water. In this standard, the infrared photometry method is applicable to the determination of oil content in boiler feedwater, production return water, and chemical equipment cooling water with a range of 0.1 mg/L to 100 mg/L, and is also applicable to the determination of oil content in other water samples; the ultraviolet spectrophotometry method is applicable to the determination of oil content in boiler feedwater, production return water, and chemical equipment cooling water of power plants with a range of 0.1 mg/L to 4.0 mg/L.
