Scope

This document specifies the requirements for nucleic acid detection techniques commonly used in the diagnosis of penaeid shrimp rod-shaped virus disease. For the penaeid shrimp rod-shaped virus (Penaeus monodon-type baculovirus, MBV), it provides the reagents or materials, instruments and equipment, samples, experimental steps, and result determination needed for PCR detection.
This document is applicable to the qualitative detection of MBV in samples from all life stages of shrimp, for the purpose of conducting epidemiological surveys, diagnosis, quarantine, and monitoring of penaeid shrimp rod-shaped virus disease.
