Scope

This document specifies the maximum allowable external leakage rate and measurement test methods for welding, cutting, and related process equipment (hereinafter referred to as "equipment"). This document applies to independent welding and cutting equipment parts or devices between the hose connection at the gas supply end (the outlet of the gas cylinder valve or the connection end of the gas supply station) and the gas outlet of the welding and cutting torch. This document does not apply to gas supply stations. For certain equipment, the maximum allowable external leakage rate is specified in its standards, and the tests shall be conducted in accordance with these standards.
