Scope

This standard specifies the measurement methods, measurement devices, and basic requirements for four optical parameters of optical systems: focal length, field of view, magnification, and aperture (relative aperture and numerical aperture). This standard is applicable to the measurement of optical parameters of microscopes, telescopes, and lenses used in photography, projection, and plate making in the visible spectral range.
