Scope

This standard stipulates the basic principles of file classification and indexing, the rules of file classification and indexing for different types and topics, as well as the work procedures and quality management of file classification and indexing. This standard is applicable to all levels and types of archives (rooms) in using the "Chinese Archival Classification Law" to classify and index various types of archives they hold; it is also applicable to the work of compiling archival classification catalogs, indexes, and establishing archival catalog centers and databases for file classification and indexing.
