Scope

This document specifies a general algorithm for calculating the stopping/deceleration distance of the braking system and the braking power and energy corresponding to the braking distance, using instantaneous value input.
This document is applicable to the calculation of braking force generated by general-type braking systems.
This document is not applicable to the calculation of stopping braking distance under working conditions exceeding the available adhesion level (wheel slip).
Note 1: This document does not specify specific acceptance criteria such as pass/fail.
Note 2: This document is not intended to be used as a design guide for selecting braking systems, nor does it specify performance requirements for braking systems.
Note 3: If other types of braking systems, such as new equipment or new types of equipment, are used, other braking force calculation methods should be employed.
