Scope
This standard specifies the method of pulping in the laboratory using a Valmet pulper. This method is limited to slurry preparation, pulping, sampling, sample distribution, and pulping equipment.
This standard is applicable to various pulps.
Note: Pulping is a preparatory stage for testing the physical properties of pulp.
In practical operations, for certain pulps with very long fibers, such as cotton linter, this method may not yield satisfactory results when used for measurement.
