Scope

This standard specifies the principles, terms and definitions, samples, test equipment, test procedures, evaluation of test results, and test reports for the drop hammer tear test method of ferritic steel. This standard is applicable to the drop hammer tear test and result evaluation of transport steel pipes with a wall thickness not exceeding 40 mm, or ferritic steel, bainitic steel, and duplex steel plates with a thickness of 3 mm to 40 mm.
