Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols, classification and designations, order content, dimensions, weights, and allowable deviations of steel fibers for concrete, as well as testing methods, packaging, transportation, and storage. This standard applies to reinforcing concrete and mortar, including shotcrete, flooring, prefabricated products, on-site casting, and repairing concrete with steel fibers (hereinafter referred to as "steel fibers"). For other fiber-reinforced engineering materials, such as stainless steel fibers for reinforcing refractory materials, this standard can also be referenced.
