Scope

This standard specifies the definition, indicator signals, and technical requirements of seatbelt reminder devices for automobiles.
This standard applies to seatbelt reminder devices used in the driver's seat position and/or the front passenger seat position of M1-class automobiles. Seatbelt reminder devices for other seating positions in M1-class automobiles and other vehicle models may be implemented with reference to this standard.
