GB/T 8941-2007 Paper and board—Measurement of specular gloss(20°45°75°)
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the method for measuring the gloss of paper and paperboard using gloss meters with 20°, 45°, and 75° angles. The 20° gloss measurement method is mainly applicable to high-gloss paper and paperboard such as cast-coated paper and waxed paper, as well as to paper and paperboard samples with high printing gloss. It is not suitable for paper and paperboard with lower gloss, whether coated or uncoated. The 45° gloss measurement method is mainly applicable to measuring the gloss of metal-composite paper and paperboard such as aluminum foil paper and vacuum-coated aluminum paper. The 75° gloss measurement method is mainly applicable to coated paper and paperboard, and can also be used for uncoated paper and paperboard or paper and paperboard samples with low printing gloss. The color and diffuse reflection ratio of the samples have little impact on the gloss measurement results.
