Scope

This document specifies the conditions for obtaining repeatable and comparable measurement results when measuring the maximum sound pressure level of airborne noise from motor yachts with a hull length of not more than 24 m during navigation. These vessels include inboard motorboats, stern-drive motorboats, personal watercraft (PWC), and outboard motorboats. This document also specifies the type test for stern-drive motorboats with integrated exhaust systems and outboard motorboats based on standard boats. In addition, this document also specifies the procedures to be followed for measuring sound exposure levels in addition to the maximum sound pressure level.
Note: For vessels other than those specified above, use ISO 2922 to measure radiation noise.
The accuracy level of the acoustic test procedures specified in this document is engineering grade (Grade 2).
