Scope

This standard specifies the conditions for reproducible and comparable measurement results of the maximum sound pressure level of airborne noise for motor yachts with a hull length of not more than 24m, including inboard yachts, stern-drive yachts, personal watercraft (PWC), and outboard engines used with standard yachts. It also stipulates the type test for inboard/outboard engines driven by a standard yacht with a complete exhaust system and the type test for outboard engines.
If it is required to determine the sound exposure level in addition to the maximum sound pressure level, the procedure specified in Appendix A should be followed.
