GB/T 14563-2008 Specification and test method of Kaolin clay

Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation, and storage of kaolin products. It also stipulates the chemical determination methods for the content of silica dioxide, iron oxide trioxide, titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide trioxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, potassium oxide, sodium oxide, sulfur trioxide, and the amount of loss on ignition in kaolin, as well as the adsorption rate of guanidine in kaolin products, pH value, whiteness, adsorbed water, sieve residue, sedimentation volume, dispersed sediment, suspension, particle size, viscosity concentration, oil absorption, covering power, and physical properties for dispersion in organic systems. This standard applies to soft, sandy, and coal-derived kaolin used in the paper-making, enamel, rubber, plastic, ceramics, and coatings industries, as well as to calcined kaolin and the determination of its physical properties and chemical components. Other industrial kaolin products can also be used as a reference.
