Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for the treatment of waste lithium-ion power batteries, the technical requirements for pollution control during the treatment process, the requirements for pollutant emission control and environmental monitoring, and the requirements for operating environment management. This standard applies to the pollution control during the treatment of waste lithium-ion power batteries and can be used as a technical reference for environmental impact assessments, construction and operation, environmental protection acceptance upon completion, and discharge permit management of related construction projects for the treatment of waste lithium-ion power batteries. The pollution control during the treatment of other types of waste lithium-ion batteries, such as energy storage and consumer-grade batteries, as well as the treatment of lithium-ion battery production waste, can be implemented in accordance with this standard. This standard does not apply to the return-for-repair and refurbishment process of lithium-ion power batteries within their shelf life.
