Scope

This standard specifies a method for evaluating the anti-sagging property of color paints, varnishes, and similar coating materials by applying them to a substrate and placing them in a vertical position.
After the coatings are applied in the following manner, the anti-sagging property can be evaluated:
a) Scrape the coating on a horizontally placed test board with a graduated anti-sagging applicator, and then place the test board vertically,
or
b) Spray the coating on a vertically placed substrate using a spray gun.
Note: If the brush or roller application method can form a uniform coating, it can also be used.
This standard is only applicable to liquid coatings.
