Basic Information
Scope
This standard stipulates the general principles for the classification of ancient books in ethnic minority languages in China and the grading of such books. This standard applies to the classification of ancient books in common script of all ethnic minorities in China. It applies to the collection, protection, organization, and utilization of ancient books in ethnic minority languages in libraries, museums, archives, cultural relics management institutions, archaeological institutes, ethnic and religious research institutions, temples, and offices of planning groups for the collection, compilation, and publication of ancient books in ethnic minority languages at all levels and types of libraries, museums, archives, cultural relics management institutions, archaeological institutes, ethnic and religious research institutions, temples, and offices of planning groups for the collection, compilation, and publication of ancient books in ethnic minority languages in provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government. At the same time, publishing, teaching, and research institutions can refer to and use this standard when conducting related work on ancient books in ethnic minority languages. This standard does not apply to the classification of other special ancient documents in ethnic minority languages existing in China, such as oracle bones, bamboo slips, stone inscriptions, wooden tablets, maps, letters, contracts, proclamations, and archives. Ancient books in the same language produced by cross-border ethnic groups outside China are not within the scope of classification in this standard.
