Scope

This standard specifies the classification, characteristics, product data and information, normal working and installation conditions, structural and performance requirements, testing, packaging, transportation, and storage of low-voltage load-limiting circuit breakers (hereinafter referred to as circuit breakers). This standard applies to circuit breakers used to connect to circuits with a rated voltage of not more than AC 50 Hz, 1,000 V, and a rated operating current of not more than 1,250 A. Circuit breakers are used to disconnect circuits when the load current exceeds the load-limiting current, ensuring the safe operation of circuits and electrical equipment, as well as the distribution of electrical energy. Under normal working conditions, circuits are not frequently connected and disconnected, and they also have short-circuit protection functions. Appendix A of this standard applies to load-limiting circuit breakers with residual current protection.
