Scope

This document specifies the planning and installation requirements for residential and building electronic systems (HBES) and building automation and control systems (BACS), as well as their supporting infrastructure.
This document also considers HBES/BACS using radio frequency (RF).
The safety requirements for residential and building electronic systems (HBES) and building automation and control systems (BACS), as well as their supporting infrastructure, are specified in IEC 60364 (all parts).
Network devices for information and communication technology (ICT) and broadcast and communication technology (BCT) are typical interfaces for HBES/BACS.
ISO/IEC 147632 covers the requirements for ICT and BCT network installations.
This document does not include the following components that are compatible with HBES/BACS:

—— Power line;
—— Power over Ethernet (PoE).
