Scope

This standard applies to searchlights installed on high-speed vessels in accordance with the requirements of the "International Safety Rules for High-Speed Craft" (HSC Rules) [IMO MSC.36(63) Resolution, Chapter 13].
Searchlights installed on high-speed vessels help detect other vessels, offshore structures, navigational obstacles, floating objects and organisms, coastlines, and fixed navigational aids and buoys. They provide navigators with the necessary assistance for navigational safety, collision avoidance, and search and rescue of victims during navigation.
