Scope

This part of GB/T 3074 specifies the principles of measuring the thermal expansion coefficient of graphite electrodes, the instruments and equipment, the preparation of samples, the test procedures, and the calculation of results.
This part is applicable to ordinary power, high power, and ultra-high power graphite electrodes, as well as other solid carbon materials with a total expansion amount of no more than 1 mm at 600 °C, with a temperature range of room temperature to 600 °C. If it is necessary to test the thermal expansion coefficient in other temperature ranges, it can be carried out in accordance with this method.
