Scope

This part of GB/T 17037 sets out the general principles for injection molding samples of thermoplastic materials, provides detailed reference data for the design of molds used to prepare two types of samples, such as Type A1 and Type B1 samples specified in GB/T 37426, and provides reproducible injection molding conditions. The aim is to provide a consistent description of the main parameters of the molding process and establish a unified method under the reported molding conditions. The detailed conditions required for the reproducible preparation of samples will vary depending on the materials used. These conditions are specified in the national standards for the relevant materials or agreed upon by the relevant parties. This part is applicable to the reproducible preparation of multi-purpose and long strip samples of thermoplastic materials by injection molding. Note: Experiments on acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene (ABS), styrene/butadiene (SB), and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) between laboratories have shown that mold design is one of the important factors in ensuring the reproducible preparation of samples.
