Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for the linear density of filament (complex and single filament) yarns, such as polyester (polyester), polyamide (nylon), polypropylene (polypropylene), and cellulose chemical fibers. This standard is applicable to the test of linear density of filament yarns extracted from rolls or fabrics. The test can also be used for strands and cables as a reference. This standard is not applicable to filament yarns with an elongation rate of more than 0.5% when the tension increases from 0.05 cN/dtex to 0.1 cN/dtex.
