Scope

This standard defines the specific stages and milestones of the electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in the process industry during commissioning (see Figure 1). By way of example, this standard describes the activities during the period from the "installation in place" milestone to the acceptance of the equipment by the owner, and is applicable to various types of related process flows/equipment.
Note: This standard assumes that the "equipment acceptance" milestone occurs after the performance assessment. If the scope of work is reduced, this standard should also be appropriately modified.
