Scope

This standard specifies the method of designating low-temperature toughness steel grades for ships and marine engineering, the content of orders, dimensions, shapes, weights, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates.
This standard applies to liquefied gas transport ships, polar ships, and low-temperature carbon-manganese steel and nickel-based low-temperature steel used in marine engineering, and is suitable for steel plates with a thickness of not more than 60 mm and profiles with a thickness or diameter of not more than 50 mm (hereinafter referred to as "steel").
