Scope

This standard applies to traction and forced-drive elevators, hydraulic-driven elevators, escalators, and automatic walkways. It also applies to any of the following circumstances: a) having been in use for 15 years or continuing to be used for 5 years after a safety assessment; b) having experienced accidents of a higher level than general; c) when the user unit, property owner, or lessee unit, etc. deem it necessary to conduct a safety assessment; d) when commissioned by the government or supervisory and management departments; e) other situations requiring a safety assessment to ensure the safety performance of elevators.
