Scope

This standard specifies the product classification and marking, requirements and test methods, inspection rules, as well as labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage of high-activity polyisobutylene. This standard applies to high-activity polyisobutylene produced by continuous polymerization of isobutylene as a monomer. High-activity polyisobutylene is mainly used in the production of lubricating oil ashless dispersants, gasoline detergent additives, emulsified explosives emulsifiers, etc. High-activity polyisobutylene is usually a low-molecular-weight polyisobutylene with an index-average molecular weight of 500 to 5,000 and an α-olefin mass fraction higher than 75%.
