Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for replaceable glow starters (hereinafter referred to as "starters") for preheated fluorescent lamps.
Part 1 specifies the general and safety requirements that starters should meet.
Part 2 specifies the performance requirements of starters.
The additional requirements that glow starters for Class II fluorescent lamp fixtures should meet are specified in Appendix B.
