Scope

This standard applies to medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection devices (hereinafter referred to as "devices") and protective gear (hereinafter referred to as "gear"). The devices covered by this standard include: medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection screens (hereinafter referred to as "protection screens"), medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection rooms (hereinafter referred to as "protection rooms"), medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection doors (hereinafter referred to as "protection doors"), and medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection chairs (hereinafter referred to as "protection chairs"). The protective gear covered by this standard includes: medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection glasses (hereinafter referred to as "protective glasses"), medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection face masks (hereinafter referred to as "protective face masks"), and medical diagnostic X-ray radiation protection curtains (hereinafter referred to as "protective curtains").
