Scope

This document describes the tetrazolium test method for assessing the viability of crop seeds.
This document is applicable to the inspection of crop seeds, primarily in the following scenarios:
—— Seeds that need to be sown as soon as possible after harvest;
—— Sprouted seeds and seeds damaged during harvest;
—— Seeds with deep dormancy and those with slow germination;
—— Seeds requiring a rapid assessment of germination potential, and those suspected of dormancy at the end of the germination test.
