Scope

This document describes the method of testing the loss factor η, elastic modulus E, and shear modulus G, which are vibration damping characteristics of materials used in structural vibration, building acoustics, and noise and vibration control, within the frequency range of 50 Hz to 5000 Hz and the effective use temperature of the materials.
This document is applicable to metals, enamels, ceramics, rubbers, plastics, reinforced epoxy resin matrices, and wood, which can be prepared into cantilever beam specimen structures.
