GB/T 2820.8-2022 Reciprocating internal combustion engine driven alternating current generating sets—Part 8:Requirements and tests for low-power generating sets

Scope

This document specifies the requirements, minimum performance, and type testing for small-power generator sets driven by reciprocating internal combustion engines for land and marine use (civilian, recreational, and industrial applications), excluding those for aviation use. This document is primarily applicable to small-power generator sets driven by reciprocating internal combustion engines with voltages not exceeding 500 V, single-phase or multi-phase, and AC or DC operation. These generator sets are manufactured as standard products. In this document, "small power" refers to a rated power of up to 10 kW/50 Hz or 12 kW/60 Hz. Small-power generator sets applicable to this document have the following characteristics: - Users are typically non-professionals (see Section 3.1); - The entire generator set is usually transportable or mobile; - Except for extra-low voltage, the electrical output is connected via plugs, sockets, and threaded terminals; - The generator set is ready to use without requiring any additional installation work by the user. Special-purpose or high-power generator sets with the above characteristics may also be tested according to this document, subject to the agreement of the user and the manufacturer. In certain applications, additional requirements may be specified based on this document. In addition to the definitions and requirements specified in GB/T 2820.1~GB/T 2820.6, the special requirements for design and testing described in this document must also be complied with. This document does not address safety requirements. To prevent harm to users, the provisions of ISO 8528-13 must be followed. Note: This document is not applicable to arc welding equipment.
