GB/T 33797-2017 Plastics—Determination of the ultimate anaerobic biodegradation under high-solids anaerobic-digestion conditions—Method by analysis of released biogas
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies a method for evaluating the biodegradability of plastics under anaerobic conditions by measuring the amount of biogas released. The method simulates typical anaerobic digestion conditions using urban organic solid waste as a model. The test materials are exposed to inoculum from household waste that has undergone anaerobic digestion in a test chamber. Anaerobic decomposition occurs in a high-solids environment (with a total dry solids content greater than 20%) and under undisturbed conditions. This test method is used to determine the carbon content in the test materials and the percentage of it that is converted into carbon dioxide and methane. The conditions described in this standard do not always correspond to the optimal conditions for achieving maximum biodegradation.
