Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, grades, dimensions, shapes, weights, and allowable deviations of cold-rolled ribbed steel bars, as well as technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates. This standard applies to cold-rolled ribbed steel bars used in prestressed concrete and ordinary reinforced concrete, and also applies to cold-rolled ribbed steel bars used in the manufacture of welded mesh (hereinafter referred to as "steel bars").
