本文件规定了激光防护具的技术要求和标识，描述了相应的试验方法。
本文件适用于防意外暴露于激光辐射（波长范围在180 nm～1 mm)的激光眼镜、激光眼罩、激光面罩或面屏等眼护具（包括滤光片、镜框、侧护板等部件)；也适用于调试激光用眼护具。
本文件不适用于作为观察窗用于激光设备上的激光防护滤光片，也不适用于光学设备(如显微镜和放大镜)上的激光防护滤光片。
